Douglas Nix BMath, CA
Douglas is Vice Chairman of CFA. He is one of Canada's leading mid-market M&A advisors. He has been involved in over 60 M&A transactions in the past 15 years and has advised many public and private companies in acquisitions and divestitures of domestic and international operations. He previously worked with PriceWaterhouseCoopers internationally where he advised many clients in different industries. He has a strong background in strategy formulation, M&A and corporate finance. He is also Chairman of CFA’s Transportation and Logistics Industry Practice Group. He has a BMath from the University of Waterloo.
Ashley Edwards, BMath, MAcc, CA
Ashley is a Chartered Accountant with expertise in modelling, taxes and analysis. She qualified with Deloitte Touche in Calgary where she served a diverse client base in a broad range of different industries. Ashley has a Bachelor of Mathematics and a Master of Accounting from University of Waterloo.
Nancy Nix BA
Nancy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Life Sciences from the University of Waterloo. She has worked in international health organizations where she was responsible for raising financing and program development. She has over 10 years experience in organizational development, research and transaction support.
Jerald Alexander B.Sc (Eng), MS
Since 1985, Jerald has worked as a financial intermediary in many industries in both financing and M&A. During the past 30 years, he has worked with the Management Consulting Branch of the Canadian government and McKinsey & Co. and was Manager of Project Finance and Acquisitions at Dome Petroleum. Jerald has an engineering physics degree from Queen’s University and an MS in operations research from Stanford University.
Michael Gardner BA
Mike has extensive experience in corporate finance in both debt financing and acquisitions. He joined CFA after outstanding careers at some of Canada’s leading financial institutions including CIBC, HSBC, Bank of Montreal, TD Bank and ABN Amro. Mike has advised companies in acquisitions, divestitures, financings, and facilitated strategic planning. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University in Montreal.
Jonathan S. Johnson
Jonathan brings over 35 years of supply-chain management experience. He has had
senior management roles with major North American logistics companies and he has also worked with companies such as Coke, Sobeys, GM, Cargill, Ford and Wal-Mart. Jonathan has extensive experience in restructuring, acquisitions and divestitures in the transportation and logistics industry.
Andrew Fountain B.Sc. (Eng), M.Div., Ph.D.
Andrew trained as a software engineer working in graphics and communications systems R&D for Marconi Space and Defence Systems and IBM Research and Development Labs. He did his Ph.D. in image processing at the University of Southampton where he became a lecturer and led a research team in the area of hypertext and Internet technology. Since then he has worked in freelance consulting and training on Internet enabling technologies. Clients include AOL, Toronto Stock Exchange, Rogers Communications, EMI Music Distribution and the Federal Government. He is CFA Canada’s Director of Technology.
